WHS JROTC Marks Milestone PDF Print

The JROTC program at Watauga High School marked an important milestone on October 2nd with the promotion and appointment of cadets to leadership positions. Senior Instructor Lt. Col Gerald Harper, USMC, (Ret)  described the event as "an important first step in building an entire cadet battalion staff here at Watauga High School."

Photo Notes:

Master Sergeant David Hernandez, USMC, (Ret),  is facing the cadets in the "Sgt & cadets" photo. Hernandez is one of two instructors in the JROTC program.

In the "Gerald & cadets photo", Harper is shown as he spoke briefly to parents and other attendees at the close of the ceremony.

In the "2 cadets" photo are (on left) Cadet Second Lieutenant Kasey Koch and Cadet Gunnery Sergeant Nicholas Watson. Hernandez (on left) and Harper are facing Koch and Watson as they announce the cadets' appointments.
