WHS Lacrosse Batters Patton

The Watauga High boys' lacrosse team took out its frustrtaions on winless Morganton-Patton Thursday night. The Pioneers (3-6 overall; 3-2 North Carolina Conference 13), who suffered a huge setback following their loss at Hickory last Friday, bounced back and battered Patton 14-5 down in Morganton. Pioneers Pull Off Daily Double

The Watuaga High boys' and girls' track teams won the Northwestern 3A-4A Conference championships Wednesday at Jack Groce Stadium. The Pioneers won their fifth consecutive NW3A/4A titles. The WHS girls won nine events and bested the field with 178 points. Hickory finished second with 153 points.
