Tarleton Asks Governor for Help in Kerosene Shortage PDF Print

State Representative for Ashe and Watauga counties Cullie Tarleton has written Governor Michael Easley to ask for his help in easing the kerosene shortage in North Carolina and especially in the high country.

Tarleton said, “The shortage of kerosene has driven the price in some cases will beyond $4.00 a gallon which has created a financial hardship for many families who still heat their home with kerosene.  North Carolina is one of the top three kerosene-consuming states in the nation and many of those consumers live in western North Carolina. We’ve got to increase the supply of kerosene which should help drive down the price to a more affordable level. I’ve asked the Governor to use the influence of his office to get additional supplies of kerosene to our state and especially into my district”.
