|New State Law Calls for Landlords to Provide Carbon Monoxide Detectors in Residences|

A new state law takes effect today that requires that landlords install at least one battery or electric carbon monoxide alarm on each level of each rental unit.
The Associated Press reports landlords must make sure that the carbon monoxide detector is operating at the beginning of each new lease and must repair the alarm within 15 days of being notified in writing that the detector isn’t working properly.
