On Thursday, October 24th, from 8am-1pm, Appalachian and the Community Together will present Stone Soup, a professional development conference for nonprofit leaders. Sandy Rees, professional fundraising coach and consultant, will present a half-day conference “From awkward to awesome: How to build relationships that lead to outrageously loyal and generous donors, year after year.” The conference will take place on the campus of Appalachian State University in the Parkway Ballroom of the Plemmons Student Union.
This part-lecture, part-workshop program will help nonprofit staff, board members, and directors learn what it takes to engage donors, build relationships, acquire repeat gifts, and walk away with a donor retention plan they can use.
Registration for this event is $40 for one person, $25 for each additional registrant coming from the same organization. Cost includes breakfast, lunch, and all day coffee courtesy of Stick Boy Kitchen and a free follow up webinar hosted by Sandy on November 14th for extra support and implementation tips.
For an additional $30, Sandy will be offering an afternoon workshop limited to 12 people for more in-depth coaching and a plan tailored to your organization’s specific needs.
Stone Soup Fall 2013 is sponsored in part by High Country United Way, The Watauga Community Foundation, DonorExpress Software, Western Youth Network, The Hospitality House of Boone, Watauga County Habitat for Humanity, Hope Pregnancy Resource Center, and Caldwell Community College Small Business Center. Stick Boy Bread Company is providing the food for the event.
