The great spring exodus is underway, with ASU taking spring break this next week. The official dates are the 11th through 15th, but evidence of the departure could be seen yesterday with the first wave leaving town. Today, students could be seen—dirty laundry and guitars in tow—
boarding buses and packing cars for the trips home or to some warm destination. With the students mostly out of town next week, AppalCart will reduce service on many routes, and those changes to their schedule are posted on GoBlueRidge.net.
March 11, through March 15, 2013 AppalCART will reduce its fixed route bus service to reflect the absence of 15,500 Appalachian State University students who will be on Spring Break. During the period, AppalCART will operate the Red, Green 1, POP105, Purple, and Orange bus routes. All routes will end service at approximately 8:00 PM. Parking lot shuttles will resume on Sunday March 17th with the State Farm Shuttle, Gold and Red Routes. On Monday, March 18th, the Blue, Gold, Express, 2nd and 3rd POP105 and second Orange, and second Green Route will resume their normal schedules. The parking lot shuttles will run a normal schedule on both Friday, March 8th, and Sunday, March 17thth. There will be no fixed route bus service on Sunday March 10, 2013.
