Middlebrook Captures Regional Crown

Watauga High junior Darby Middlebrook defended her regional championship Saturday at McAlpine Park in Charlotte.

UPDATED: Pioneers Host Cougars Friday


The Watauga High football team, making its fifth appearance in thestate playoffs in the last six years, will open post-season play at home Friday night. The Pioneers (6-5) will host Alexander Central at Jack Groce Stadium. The Pioneers are seeded seventh in teh West and third in the Western pod; Alexander Central is sixth in the Western pod and 13th in the West Regional.

UPDATED: Pioneers Advance To Regional Finals

 For the first time since 2000 and for only the fourth time in school history, the Watauga High volleyball team has marched its way to the Class 4A Western Regional championship game.
