Pioneers force 2-2 draw with Bobcats

The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw with Tusculum College after two periods of extra time on Tuesday night, nearly ending proceedings on several occasions as the contest ended in a deadlock.

ASU Volleyball Dominates Saturday Matches

Anna Wagner notched her 10th double-digit kill total of the season as the Appalachian State volleyball team took down its second ACC opponent of the season with a 3-0 win over Wake Forest on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at the Holmes Center.

ASU Women’s Golf Places 16th At Great Smokies Intercollegiate

After a weather delay on Tuesday morning, Appalachian State University women’s golf completed the final round of the Great Smokies Intercollegiate to place 16th at the event. The Mountaineers carded a 303-305=608 (+32).

Champions Again.....

After a sluggish start on Saturday, the Watauga Storm girls 14U Softball team erupted for 31 hits and 19 runs over two games to win the Top Gun “Winter Nationals NIT” in Huntersville. As champions, the Storm finished the tournament with a record of 4-1.

Hauck Named SAC Player Of The Week

Lenoir-Rhyne University's Catherine Hauck (Lake Mary, Fla.) has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.
Hauck, a senior All-American midfielder, led L-R to a pair of victories over Belmont Abbey (4-1) and Anderson (1-0) last Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.

Silva Captures Individual Title, Bobcats Fourth At Cycling Nationals


Freshman Iggy Silva (San Diego, Calif.) sprinted his way to his first career individual national championship in the men's point race on Saturday, leading the Lees-McRae College cycling team to a fourth-place finish in the team omnium at the USA Cycling 2011 Collegiate Track Nationals.
