ASU Soccer Combats Gardner-Webb To Scoreless Tie

After an emotional game in front of a supportive crowd, Appalachian State men’s soccer came away with a 0-0 tie against Gardner-Webb in the opening game of the Davidson adidas Classic on Friday evening. The Mountaineers’ record moves to 1-2-1, while the Runnin’ Bulldogs remain even at 1-1-2.

In a contest of two of the top NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Teams, third-ranked Florida Tech (4-0) prevailed over No. 7 Lenoir-Rhyne (1-1) by a 2-1 score Friday evening at the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex.

Clendenin, Pritchett Lead Bobcats Past Montevallo

Taylor Clendenin (Statesville, N.C.) tallied a match-high 15 kills, and freshman Taylor Pritchett (Apex, N.C.) dropped in eight service aces to lead the Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team to a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over the University of Montevallo on Friday afternoon at the Tusculum Fall Classic.

'Hoppers advance to Finals with 2-0 win

The 1st-Half Northern Division Champion Hickory Crawdads were edged by the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 2-0, before 2,552 fans on Friday night at L.P. Frans Stadium. The Grasshoppers will advance to the SAL Finals with a 2-0 series victory.

ASU Men’s Soccer to Play as Scheduled

Appalachian State University men’s soccer will participate as scheduled in this weekend’s Davidson adidas Classic in Davidson, N.C. In their first matches since the death of head coach Shaun Pendleton, the Mountaineers will face Gardner-Webb on Friday at 5 p.m. and Detroit on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Davidson’s Alumni Soccer Stadium.

'Hoppers outlast 'Dads, 5-4 In Marathon

The 1st-Half Northern Division Champion Hickory Crawdads took four one-run leads throughout the game, but the Greensboro Grasshoppers continuously battled back for the 5-4 win in 15 innings in Game 1 of the NDCS, before 2,816 fans at NewBridge Bank Park.  The Grasshoppers hold a 1-0 series lead in the best-of-three set, which heads to Hickory on Friday.
