'Dads and Drive split Saturday doubleheader

Will Lamb, Ben Rowen and Francisco Mendoza combined to toss a two-hit, 3-0 win for the Hickory Crawdads in the second seven-inning game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Greenville Drive, before 2,772 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium.  The Drive won the first seven-inning game, 9-2.

Appalachian State University volleyball closed out the Kansas Jayhawk Invitational with a 3-0 sweep over Belmont on Saturday, 25-17, 25-17, 25-23. The Mountaineers improved to 4-3 on the season with the win.

Friday's game postponed, doubleheader Saturday

Friday's scheduled game between the Hickory Crawdads and the Greenville Drive at L.P. Frans Stadium has been postponed due to inclement weather.  The two teams will play two seven-inning games on Saturday, with Game 1 starting at 4 p.m. and Game 2 starting no earlier than 7 p.m.  Gates will open at 3 p.m.
