The Hibriten High boy's basketball team posted its first win against Watauga in four years Tuesday night. The Panthers (8-9 overall; 4-7 Northwestern 3A/4A Conference), who were victimized twice by Watauga (13-8; 4-7) this season, bested the Pioneers 67-62 in a NW3A/4A Conference game in Lenior, N.C.

The St. Stephens High girl's basketball team pulled into a third-place tie with South Caldwell Monday night.

For the third time this season, Lenoir-Rhyne University's Jazmine Charles has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player Of The Week.

Lees-McRae sophomore Alyssa Munson tallied her fifth 20-point game on the season, but LMC struggled in the first half and fell 70-55 to Limestone in Conference Carolinas action Monday evening at Williams Gymnasium in Banner Elk, N.C.

The Appalachian State University women's basketball continued its torrid pace by knocking off Furman 75-70 at the Holmes Center Monday night. The win moves App State into a third-place tie with the Paladins in the Southern Conference standings.
