'Dads Game Suspended

The Hickory Crawdads' July 4th game against the Kannapolis Intimidators has been suspended due to rain. The game, which was tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh, will be finished Friday, July 5th, starting at 5:00 pm. The 'Dads and Intimidators will play Friday's regularly scheduled 9-inning game at the original start time of 7:00 pm. Full Story

Watts Steps Down

Chip Watts has stepped down as baseball coach at St. Stephens High. Watts, who graduated from St. Stephens, leaves the Indians after five years as head coach. Tar Heels to Visit Notre Dame in 2014

Over the next couple of seasons the North Carolina Tar Heels will be introduced to a variety of new teams. The Louisville Cardinals, Pitt Panthers, and Syracuse Orange are all joining the Atlantic Coast Conference as full members.
