Watts Steps Down

Chip Watts has stepped down as baseball coach at St. Stephens High. Watts, who graduated from St. Stephens, leaves the Indians after five years as head coach. He has been named an assistant principal at Mill Creek Middle School in Claremont, N.C. His new position will allow Watts the opportunity to work with more students. He

Tar Heels to Visit Notre Dame in 2014

Over the next couple of seasons the North Carolina Tar Heels will be introduced to a variety of new teams. The Louisville Cardinals, Pitt Panthers, and Syracuse Orange are all joining the Atlantic Coast Conference as full members. Parra Shuts Down Sand Gnats

Hayes Stadium Named Top Facility In 2013

Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium, the home of the Charlotte 49ers baseball program, was named the “Top Ballpark in North Carolina” and finished No. 14 in the “2013 College Baseball Ballpark Rankings” by Stadium at the conclusion of the season. Full Story

Pifer Transfers To Brevard

Jake Pifer is on the move again. And this time, he hopes to make it stick. Pifer, who was a three-time varsity player and a two-year starter at Watauga High (2009-2012) during his prep career, will attend Brevard College, a Division II school in Brevard. N.C., and a member of the South Atlantic Conference this fall.
