Lenoir-Rhyne's Sydney Landreth has been named the South Atlantic Conference Softball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.  Landreth, a freshman first baseman from Disputanta, Va., hit .471 (eight-for-17) for the week with five runs scored and six runs batted in and led the Bears to a 6-1 week.

Appalachian State University has finalized the dates for its annual Hall of Fame, Family Weekend, Homecoming and Black Saturday football games in 2014. Appalachian State’s 2014 Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, in conjunction with the Mountaineers’ home opener versus Campbell.
