A 9-0 Western Carolina run to open the game and a dismal night at the free-throw line proved to be fatal in Appalachian State University men’s basketball’s 74-61 loss to WCU on Thursday at the Holmes Center.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team (13-10, 12-7) rallied from a three-point deficit with under two minutes left to defeat Catawba (6-17, 6-13), 53-49, Wednesday evening at Goodman Gymnasium in a South Atlantic Conference contest.

A trio of Lees-McRae women's basketball players netted at least 15 points in an enormous win against Mount Olive, 80-73, in Conference Carolinas play Wednesday evening at Williams Gymnasium in Banner Elk, N.C.
