Watauga High senior Alison Seramer will make it official on Monday by signing her national letter of intent with Queens University, a Division II school in Charlotte, N.C., and a member of Conference Carolinas.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team (4-2), ranked No. 14 in NCAA Division II, notched an easy victory over Lynn (1-4), 23-4, Sunday afternoon at Walton High School.

The Watauga High boys' and girls' track teams both turned in fourth-place finishes Friday night at A.C. Reynolds. The WHS boys produced 21 top-ten place finishers, including ten in the top-five. The Pioneers, who didn't win any events on Friday, also produced four second-place finishes.

Sunday’s matchup between the Appalachian State University baseball team and the College of Charleston has been canceled due to rain. This marks the second year in a row that the Sunday matchup between the teams have been canceled due to rain.

It was a tough debut for new Watauga High boys' lacrosse coach Brett Green and the Pioneers. WHS (0-2) was bested by Lake Norman Charter 20-1 Friday night in its season opener at Leigh Wallace Memorial Field.
