Appalachian State University men's tennis was utterly dominant its home-opening matchup against Lees-McRae on Sunday as it won 7-0 at Deer Valley Racquet Club.

Watauga High seniors Austin Northern and Austin Graham both medaled in their respective age group on Sunday at the NJGT Golf Tournament at the Lenior Golf Club in Lenior, N.C.

Cory West was the man on Saturday as the Watauga High freshman buried the game-winning shot with three seconds left as the WHS boy's freshman team closed out the regular season with a 51-49 win against Cloudland (TN) at Lentz-Eggers Gym.

Mallory Clay, who was a thorn in the side against the Watauga High girl's basketball team during her prep days at Ashe County, has really come into her own this season at Catawba College, a Division II school and a member of the South Atlantic Conference in Salisbury, N.C.

The Watauga High wrestling team continued its climb to respectability on Saturday with a fifth-place finish at the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference championships at Patton High School in Morganton, N.C.
