The Avery High baseball and softball teams had three all-conference selections in the Western Highlands 1A-2A Conference. Laura Cole and Shannon Smith of the Vikings were named to teh WHC all-conference team in softball; Ty Polsgrove was named all-conference in baseball.

The Ashe County High boys' tennis team had all six of its seeded players named to the Mountain Valley 1A-2A all-Conference team.
