Watauga High Athletic Director Tom Wright has announced that the baseball, softball and soccer games scheduled for today at Hibriten have been rained out. The games will now be played on Wednesday. Coverage of Wednesday's baseball game will begin at 6 p.m. on AM 1450,

The Ashe County boys' golf team finished fifth in a Mountain Valley 1A/2A Conference match at Oakwoods Country Club in Wilkesboro, N.C. Elkin bested the field with a team score of 169; Alleghany finished in second place just two shots off the pace. The Huskies were fifth with a team score of 181.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Golf Teams stand in 11th and 10th place, respectively, after the second round Monday of the 2014 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championship at the Sevierville Golf Club.

Watauga High Middle School Athletic Director Jim Godwin has announced that workouts for eighth grade boys interested in playing football at Watauga High next fall officially begin on Tuesday, April 29 at the high school. The workout program will last three weeks. The program concludes on Thursday, May 22nd.
