The West girls put together a dominant performance in their opening game of the North Carolina Powerade State Games in Charlotte, N.C. The West knocked off the North 4-0 on Friday morning at the Queens Sports Complex at Marion Diehl Park.

The Ashe County High girls' soccer team placed six players on the Mountain Valley 1A-2A All-Conference Team. The Lady Huskies, who won the MV1A-2AC regular-season title, also had two players named Honorable Mention.
