Former Lees-McRae men's soccer standout Thomas Rusling has been named the new assistant men's soccer coach at Lees-McRae College, announced head coach Lee Squires Friday afternoon.

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Softball Team (1-1) opened the 2014 campaign with a doubleheader split with Mount Olive (2-2) Friday at Bears Field. The Trojans shut the Bears out, 2-0, in the first game while L-R won the second contest, 5-1.

The Lees-McRae men's volleyball team stumbled out of the gate and was unable to recover on its way to being swept, 20-25, 15-25, 26-28, by Mount Olive in Conference Carolinas action Friday night at Kornegay Arena in Mount Olive, N.C.
