Charlie Cobb, who served as Appalachian State University’s director of athletics since 2005, resigned on Thursday to accept the same position at Georgia State University.

The Hickory Crawdads recently lent a helping hand at the Hickory Soup Kitchen, with the 'Dads players helping to clean, prepare, and serve food on August 7th & 8th.

The Watauga County Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the 2014 NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 12 noon at Watauga High School. This program is FREE and open to boys and girls 6–15 years of age. The age limit will be determined as of December 31, 2014.
