NC State baseball's Carlos Rodon and Trea Turner were selected in the first round of Thursday night's MLB Draft. Rodon was drafted third overall by the Chicago White Sox and Turner was the No. 13 pick by the San Diego Padres.

Joe Jackson has been on fire of late. Coming into Thursday night's game with the West Virginia Power, Jackson was hitting .500 with five RBI in his last two games. And Jackson continued his hot pace as he singled home the game-winning run leading the Hickory Crawdads to a 7-6, 12-inning victory against the Power.

Left-hander Madison Bumgarner got his career-high sixth straight win, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-1 on Thursday afternoon, taking a series in Cincinnati for the first time in five years.
