The Appalachian State University softball team had four student-athletes earning North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division all-state honors. The Mountaineers garnered the second-most first-team honorees with two; they also had two second-team honorees.

The dawn of a new era in the Sun Belt Conference began today as new members Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, Idaho and New Mexico State officially joined the league as part of its expansion effort originally announced on March 27, 2013.

The Hickory Crawdads broke out the long ball Monday night to complete their four-game sweep of the Greenville Drive. Jairo Beras, Kellin Deglan, and Lewis Brinson all went yard to lead the 'Dads to a 10-3 win at L.P. Frans Stadium.

Lenoir-Rhyne University's Ivan Vieitez and Brantley Rumford earned 2014 NCCSIA All-State College Division Baseball honors. NCCSIA is the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association.
