The Appalachian State University women’s cross country team won its fourth meet of the season Saturday, when it claimed the Lenoir-Rhyne Open title.

Appalachian State University football's Nov. 8 home game versus UL-Monroe will kick off at 3:30 p.m., Appalachian State athletics and the Sun Belt Conference announced on Saturday.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Swimming Teams competed Friday afternoon against Pfeiffer and Converse at Merner Pool. The men's team lost to Pfeiffer (164-88) while the women's team fell to both Pfeiffer (157-83) and Converse (125-115).

The Avery High football team got back on the winning track Friday night with a 17-0 win against Madison at MacDonald Stadium in Newland, N.C.

Mountaineers Fall in Five Sets: The Appalachian State University volleyball team fell in a five-set heartbreaker Friday night to Arkansas State, 20-25, 23-25, 25-22, 27-25, 12-15.
