The Appalachian State University volleyball team remains undefeated after sweeping Maryland in three sets on Saturday nightm 25-18, 25-23 and 25-18 to win the Black and Gold Challenge at the Holmes Center.

Lenoir-Rhyne Women Blank Brevard, 5-0

 

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team (1-2-1, 1-0) opened South Atlantic Conference play by claiming its first victory of the season, 5-0 over Brevard (1-3, 0-1), Saturday afternoon at the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Football Team (2-0), ranked No. 6 in NCAA Division II, scored the game's final 23 points en route to a 33-6 victory over Virginia State (0-2) Saturday afternoon at Rogers Stadium in Ettrick, Va.

According to Newton-Conover coach Matt Beam, who is in his first year with the Red Devils (3-0-1), Friday night's game between Freedom (3-0-1) and Newton-Conover, which was halted late in the first half by lightning, has been officially ruled a tie. And all statistics from that game will count.
