English Named Warriors New Football Coach

West Caldwell High School has appointed Rodney “Chip” English to become the school’s head varsity football coach. English comes to West Caldwell from AL Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC where he served as the head coach of the junior varsity football team from 2011 to through last fall, English was 26-4 during that stretch. Lenoir-Rhyne's Sydney Landreth has been named the South Atlantic Conference Softball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.  Landreth, a freshman first baseman from Disputanta, Va., hit .471 (eight-for-17) for the week with five runs scored and six runs batted in and led the Bears to a 6-1 week. Appalachian State University has finalized the dates for its annual Hall of Fame, Family Weekend, Homecoming and Black Saturday football games in 2014.
