Great Smokies Shootout has Positive Economic Impact

The Ashe County High boys' soccer team defeated Watauga 3-2 Tuesday night in the season opener for both teams. It was reported that the Huskies defeated WHS for the first time in school history. And according to Ashe County soccer coach Wes Rousseau, the Huskies only tied Watauga in 2009;

The Lees-McRae men’s soccer team climbed Sugar Mountain in Sugar Mountain, N.C., to honor Michael Shope Tuesday afternoon. Shope would have celebrated his 30th birthday.
