Atwood’s Walkoff Homer Lifts App State to Series Victory....BOONE, N.C. — Grayson Atwood (Mt. Pleasant, N.C./Mt. Pleasant) hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Appalachian State University baseball to a 6-4 walkoff win over Arkansas State on Saturday afternoon at Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium.

Offensive lineman Davante Harris, 6-foot-6, 290 pounds, signed a free agent contract on Saturday with the Indianapolis Colts. Wide receiver Sims McElfresh, 5-10, 180, signed a free agent deal with the Detroit Lions.

Arkansas State won the opener, 9-7, but Appalachian State rebounded for a decisive 9-2 victory in the nightcap.
