Vilarino to visit ASU PDF Print

Former Gonzaga University guard G.J. Vilarino is considering Appalachian State University among his possible choices.

Vilarino, who has been known for making quick decisions and for changing his mind, originally committed to the University of Kentucky before he decommitted following a coaching change (the hiring of John Calipari) at that school.
He then signed with Gonzaga, but following a disagreement over playing time, Vilarino is looking for a new home.
ASU, Illinois and another school not named at the moment, are all possibilities. Vilarino is expected to make a visit sometime this coming week. A point guard by trade, Vilarino, a fan-favorite in his native home of Spokane, Wa., has a 40-inch verticle jump, great quickness and speed, and a great basketball IQ. But he does possess an unreliable jump shot.
Vilarino will have to sit out this season because of NCAA transfer rules.
