Cal Hardee is capping off a memorable senior year at Watauga High.

The former Pioneer, who was an All-Northwestern 3A/4A Conference selection and a runner-up for player of the year honors, will compete in a pair of all-star games this week. Hardee will play in the East-West Senior All-Star game at UNC-Charlotte Wednesday night, and will then compete in the North Carolina-South Carolina Select Game Thursday through Saturday at Coastal Caroina University in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Hardee, who batted .402 with six doubles, two home runs and 22 runs-batted-in for WHS this past spring, will attend Appalachian State University this fall. Hardee was also 6-4 on the mound with a 2.78 earned-run-average and a team-leading 74 strikeouts in 63 innings of work.
The East-West Senior All-Star game will be a double-header on Wednesday night.
NOTES: Dylan Norris and Max Linville of the Pioneers will be playing for the Region 7 all-stars in the North Carolina State Games this weekend (Thursday through Sunday) at UNC-Charlotte. Hardee played for the Region 7 all-stars last summer.
