Shelby Drummonds of the Watauga High softball team was named to the Northwestern 3A/4A All-Conference team. Normal 0

Drummonds, a junior, was tied for the team lead or led the team in hits, runs scored, runs-batted-in, doubles, t ripples and home runs. She batted .371 with a .450 onbase percentage and a .629 slugging percentage in league play.

Overall, Drummonds batted .338 with two home runs, 14 RBI, 18 runs scored, six doubles and three triples. And she only struck out four times in 40 at bats this season.

Pitching-wise, Drummonds was 5-11 with a save and a 2.88 earned-run-average. In 90 innings of work, she struck out 64 batters and walked 28. Drummonds was Watauga's only selection on the all-conference squad. The WHS softball team, which lost to Alexander Central in the opening round of the state playoffs, finished the year at 10-15.
