Harry Potter mania is not over- not by a long shot. Just ask the millions of fans eagerly awaiting the final book’s release on July 21.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is sure to make an impact here in the High Country. Local bookkeepers like Black Bear Books’ Erin Thompson know the importance of this book in particular.

It's the last book, she says- and may answer questions like- will Harry die? Is Snape evil? Will Voldemort win out in the end?

In fact, Black Bear is planning to start selling books at midnight. Should people dress up?

Thompson and the rest of the Black Bear Books team will be. Look for her as villainess Bellatrix.

People who preordered copies are guaranteed to receive a book- and while Black Bear does have extras, they expect to run out quickly. You don’t have to buy a book to be a part of the fun, however.

Midnight too late? If you can wait until morning, Waldenbooks’ bash starts at 7 a.m. in Boone. The plan is to decorate, employee Patrick Walsh says.

There will be fun activities all day- don't miss out, he says.

So, ready your wants and polish your broomsticks- it’s going to be a magical weekend.
