Winter Storm Watch Issued for Portions of High Country PDF Print

The National Weather Service’s headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina has issued a Winter Weather Watch for Avery, Madison, Yancey, Mitchell, Swain, Haywood, Buncombe, Graham, and Jackson County that is in effect from Sunday evening until late Monday night.

 

West-facing slopes could see up to five inches of snow accumulation by early Monday afternoon, while most areas are expected to see two to four inches of accumulation.

The NWS is also predicting high winds of around 30 miles per hour and wind chill values near or below zero on Monday night.
