As blizzard conditions continue to hit the mountains, power lines are feeling the punch.

Blue Ridge Electric crews are battling the elements tonight to keep customers in Northwestern North Carolina with heat and power. At 8:40pm Caldwell County appears to be the hardest hit with 729 customers in the dark. Other BREMCO counties taking a hit are:

Wilkes: 94

Alleghany: 69

Watauga: 42

Ashe: 3

A total of 916 customers are reported without power. If you have a power outage in the BREMCO service area call 1-800-448-2383.
