Watauga High Athletic Director Tom Wright has announced that today's scheduled game between WHS and Fred T. Foard at Lentz-Eggers Gym has been postponed-again.

It's the second time the Pioneers and the Tigers have been cancelled this week because of bad wintry weather. And with a pending winter storm making its way into the High Country Friday and Saturday, there is a very good chance that Watauga's game at Alexander Central Friday night will be postponed as well.
"It's tough on our kids," said Wright. "But we can't control the weather and safety is the main issue concerning our student-athletes. We'll probably have to play four games next week. But that's the way it is right now. And we'll have to make the best of our situation."
Wright also said a decision on make-up dates will not be made until Monday of next week. The Pioneers will travel to Hickory next Tuesday night.
Now all of the middle school games scheduled for today will be played. And the wrestling team will take on Fred T. Foard in a make-up match down in Taylorsville. That will start, according to Wright, around 4 pm. The Northwestern 3A/4A wrestling championships will be held in Taylorsville at Alexander Central High Saturday.
