Boone police officers say they know who used a San Diego woman’s personal information to obtain a credit card- and the suspect is from the High Country.

34-year-old Lisa Ann Whitson of Boone is alleged to have obtained the information and used it to apply and obtain a credit card that was sent to her residence. Boone Police Department and Watauga County Sheriff’s Office searched Whitson’s home on Big Hill Road late last week and discovered “various items” pertaining to the incident. Police suspect that Whitson may have used her cleaning business, All Out Cleaning Service, to obtain personal information from customers. Whitson was charged with identity theft and financial transaction card fraud and was placed on a $50,000 secured bond. Whitson is also being held for Tennessee authorities on fraud and failure to appear charges. Additional charges are expected, and the investigation is ongoing.
