Deputies charge Avery man with assault by strangulation PDF Print

When dealing with domestic violence, Avery County Sheriff Kevin Frye promises cases are investigated thoroughly.  During the first weeks of his term in office, Frye vowed to take the issue very seriously. True to his word, an Avery man was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting a woman. 24-year-old Samuel Nicholas Wyatt was charged with felony assault by strangulation and was released on a $15,000 bond. Frye expressed his admiration for both Domestic Violence Investigator Natalie Cook and other detectives in his department in a written statement after the incident.
