Former Watauga High soccer player Jennings Rex, a freshman at UNC-Charlotte this past fall, was named to the Freshman All-American Team by topdrawersoccer.com.

Rex, who set a single-season school record with 40 goals during his senior year with the Pioneers, was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie squad.  He played in 18 games, started five, he scored six goals, and he had one assist for 13 points. He also had two game-winning goals for the 49ers.

UNCC was 11-3-6 this past season, qualified for the NCAA tournament and lost in the first round to UNC-Wilmington in the opening round on penalty kicks.
