Mountaineers second-best in SoCon North PDF Print

The Appalachian State men's basketball team was selected to finish second in the Southern Conference North Division Thursday by the conference coaches.

 

Kellen Brand was selected a pre-season All SoCon pick. Head coach Buzz Peterson, in his second go-round with the Mountaineers, makes his regular-season debute Friday night against Mars Hill in an exhibition game at the Holmes Center.

Western Carolina was picked to win the North; College of Charleston was picked to win the South Divsion. Davidson was picked to finish third in the South.

The Apps will open the regular season at home against UNC-Wilmington next Friday night, November 13 at the Holmes Center. The Mountaineers travel to East Tennessee State next Satruday night. And you can hear all the calls with the Voice of the Mountaineer David Jackson on WATA 1450 AM. Our coverage November 13 begins at 6:15 pm.

 

NOTES:Watauga High men's and women's basketball returns to the airwaves Tuesday, November 24 as the Pioneer men and women entertain Ashe County in their season openers at Lentz-Eggers Gym. Our coverage begins at 6:05 pm on Oldies 100.7 FM.
