This is your last chance to take advantage of several free events put on by rangers at the Blue Ridge Parkway.

According to Ranger Amy Renfranz, a Jeopardy on the Parkway event will be held on Friday evening at 7:00 at the Julian Price Park Amphitheatre.

A southern storytelling event will also be held at the amphitheatre on Saturday evening at 6:00.  Doyle Pace will be telling old time local legends.

A Cone Cemetery hike will be held on Sunday evening at 6:00, where rangers will lead a two-mile hike from the Cone Manor’s front porch to Moses and Bertha Cone’s final resting place.

This is also the last weekend of the year residents will be able to take guided tours of the upstairs of the Cone Manor.  Several tour times are available on Saturday and Sunday, but reservations are required.  Residents should call (828) 295-3782 for more information or to make reservations.

As always, these events are free and open to the public.
