Renewable energy bill clears first Senate vote PDF Print

A measure that would require utility companies in North Carolina to provide 12.5 percent of their retail electricity from renewable energy and power-saving measures cleared its first Senate vote. 
The bill was approved 46-1, but faces a final vote in the Senate before it goes to the state House.
