Two pickup trucks have been reportedly stolen from the New Market Center parking lot.

According to Officer Andy LeBeau of the Boone Police Department, a 1994 silver Mitsubishi truck that was parked in front of the Dos Amigos restaurant was stolen Tuesday around lunchtime.

Officer LeBeau said the truck was stolen sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. while the owner was eating lunch at the restaurant.

The truck has a front tag that reads “Hauler and Greene,” the license tag on the back reads XVF-3300, and the number 13 is written on the top passenger corner of the windshield.

The other theft took place across the parking lot near Lowe’s Food sometime today between 6:00 a.m. and noon.

Officer LeBeau said the second stolen truck is a red 1996 Ford F-15with a tag that reads SYC-6741.  Although the truck is painted red, LeBeau said the passenger door is white.

LeBeau said in both cases, the owners left the keys in the ignition, the windows down, and the doors unlocked.

The Boone Police Department continues to urge residents to be sure and remove your keys, lock the doors, and roll the windows up in your vehicle while leaving it unattended.

Anyone who thinks they have spotted either of these trucks should call Watauga County Crimestoppers’ Watauga County Office at (828) 268-6959.
