Watauga High baseball coach Pete Hardee has been named an assistant coach for the West in the East-West Senior All-Star game on Wednesday, June 17 at UNC-Charlotte.

Matt Neville of Asheville School is the head coach of the West squad. The teams will play at 4 pm and 8 pm on June 17.

Rising senior Cal Hardee of the Pioneers will represent the high country on the Region 7 all-star team. He will be WHS’s only representative. Pitching-wise, Hardee was 4-1 with a 4.29 earned-run-average and a save. The region all-star games will be played at UNC-Charlotte and Hopewell High School. The competition begins on Thursday, June 18 and concludes with the medal-round games on Sunday, June 21.
