Survivors come together PDF Print

Last night cancer survivors joined together at Greenway Baptist Church for the second annual Survivor’s Dinner.

Part of the Relay for Life festivities, it’s all about the survivors according to coordinator Sharon Trivette.

It's a social time for survivor's to share experiences.

After losing her father-in-law to cancer, the cause became very personal to Trivette. She’s not the only one. It was a full house. 657 invitations went out, more than ever before. Outback catered for free, and the crowd networked while they dined on delightful food.

It’s a lot more than a social event to survivors like Marjorie Ellis.

It gives her hope. Everyone gathering together as survivors shows that cancer is not a death sentence, she says.

Relay For Life happens June 15 at Watauga County High School.
