The Watauga County Arts Council is hosting the Carolina Ballet this week for a showing of Swan Lake.

The ballet will be held at Appalachian State’s Farthing Auditorium on Tuesday morning at 9:30 for students of Watauga County Schools.

With snow included in Tuesday’s forecast, Cherry Johnson of the Watauga County Arts Council said that in the event of a snow day, students of all ages are invited to attend the event free of charge, although students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Doors will open at 9:00 Tuesday morning.

Parking will be available in the Rivers Street parking deck, or if cleared, the bike lane on Rivers Street.

Johnson said the Carolina Ballet’s performance of Swan Lake is made possible by cARTwheels, which is a project of the North Carolina Arts Council supported through funding by the North Carolina Legislature.
