L-R Men's Lacrosse Adds 13 Players PDF Print

Lenoir-Rhyne University Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Greg Paradine has announced the addition of 13 players for the 2015 season.

 

 

 

"We are tremendously excited to announce and welcome the 13 newest members to the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse family," said Paradine.

 

"These 13 student-athletes represent seven different states and are a highly-accomplished group. We fully anticipate these 13 newcomers to continue the excellence in the classroom, in the community and on the playing field brought forth by our first four classes."

 

Lenoir-Rhyne finished 10-4 overall last season including a 6-1 mark in South Atlantic Conference play and captured a share of the league's first-ever regular season championship.

 

Andrew Ashworth (6-0, 160, LSM/D, Mandeville, La./The American School in Switzerland)

 

Ben Corrigan (6-2, 190, MF, Johns Creek, Ga./Chattahoochee HS):

Two-time honorable mention all-state (2012 and 2014) . As a senior, tallied 32 goals and 10 assists despite playing half the season . For his career, totaled 70 goals, 52 assists and 175 ground balls.

 

Bryan Clark (5-9, 180, MF, Hickory, N.C./Christ School):

Captain senior year . Four-year varsity player.

 

Ryan Crompton (6-1, 210, GK, Frederick, Md./Middletown HS):

United States Lacrosse All-American . First-Team all-conference and all-area . FNP Defensive Player Of The Year . Tallied a 4.04 goals-against average and a .701 save percentage.

 

Damon Cummins (6-2, 200, GK, Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor HS):

Four-year starter . Save percentage (70 percent).

 

Ryan Gallaher (6-1, 170, MF, Palm City, Fla./Jensen Beach HS):

Two-time all-district selection (2013 and 2014) . Tallied 48 goals, 64 assists and 97 ground balls the past two years . Four-year letterwinner.

 

Shane Gottberg (6-2, 190, MF, Mooresville, N.C./Lake Norman HS):

All-American and first-team all-state . Conference player of the year and two-time team MVP . Member of the 2012 state championship team and 2013 state runner-up . Senior year, tallied six goals, five assists and 128 ground balls . Also won 82.5 percent of his faceoffs.

 

Collin Lett (5-9, 165, LSM, Greensboro, N.C./Northwest Guilford HS):

All-American, all-state and all-conference . League defensive player of the year.

 

Jacob O'Connor (5-10, 170, D, Penfield, N.Y./Penfield HS):

Honorable mention all-league as a defender . Tallied two goals and 45 ground balls . Team Captain and Team Most Valuable.

 

Eddie Schoenig (6-2, 195, GK, Brewster, N.Y./Brewster HS):

First-team all-league and all-section.

 

Ryan Sicker (5-9, 175, MF, Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside HS):

Four-year starter and two-time all-league honoree . Team Captain . As a senior, tallied 22 goals and 20 assists.

 

Taylor Thilo (6-1, 170, MF, Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley HS):

Was named the 2012 Deep South Conference Freshman Of The Year while playing for Mars Hill.

 

Joe Zito (5-9, 155, MF, Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun HS):

As a senior, tallied 16 goals, nine assists and 25 points.
