App Softball Releases Fall Schedule PDF Print

Appalachian State University softball head coach Janice Savage has announced the 2014 fall schedule. The Mountaineers will play four games in Boone at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium and four games on the road.

 

 

 

App State will begin the fall by playing two games against Mars Hill University in Boone on Sunday, Sept. 21. The games are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Apps will then hit the road for four games in a row. They will travel to Winthrop University on Sunday, Sept. 28 to face Charlotte at 2:15 p.m. and Winthrop at 4 p.m.

 

Appalachian will head back to Winthrop on Sunday, Oct. 5 to face Limestone at 12 p.m. and Winthrop again at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Oct. 12, the Mountaineers will round out the fall schedule with two home games against Milligan at 1 p.m. and Lenoir-Rhyne at 3 p.m.

 

During the 2014 spring season, App State finished 19-32 and has four returning players named that were named to Southern Conference all-conference teams.

 

Senior outfielder and all-conference first-team selection Dani Heichen (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Pembroke Pines Charter) returns along with senior second baseman and first-team all-conference selection Cynthia Gomez (Oxnard, Calif./Pacifica).

 

Also returning is all-conference second-team catcher Sarah Warnock (Jamestown, N.C./Southwest Guilford) and all-freshman honoree Cara Parker (Lake Park, Ga./Lowndes). In total, 16 players return from last season’s roster.
