The Ashe County High boys' soccer team defeated Watauga 3-2 Tuesday night in the season opener for both teams. It was reported that the Huskies defeated WHS for the first time in school history. And according to Ashe County soccer coach Wes Rousseau, the Huskies only tied Watauga in 2009;

"we didn't beat them. You were originally correct in your assertion that this was our first soccer win over Watauga in school history."

GBR would like to thank coach Rousseau for providing us with this accurate information.
