ZAP Fitness To Offer Free Running Clinics PDF Print

Coaches and athletes from Blowing Rock’s ZAP Fitness/Reebok Running Center will be again offering “Wednesday evening” instructional clinics in preparation for the 15th annual Stick Boy Mayview Madness 5k (and Blue Ridge Pediatric 1 Mile Fun Run) to be held Saturday September 20th. This longstanding local event benefits the

Blue Ridge Conservancy in protecting High Country land. Clinics are free of charge and open to runners of all ages and ability levels. The ZAP coaches will cover a wide variety of topics during the clinics.

 

 

Clinics will be held every Wednesday between August 20th and September 17th. Runners will meet at the dirt horse parking lot at the entrance to Moses Cone National Park on rt 221. Runs will vary in distance from 2 to 6 miles depending on experience and fitness levels.

 

Wed Aug 20th (5:30 p.m.)– Building a Proper Training Program

 

Wed Aug 27th (5:30 p.m.) – Improving your Running Technique

 

Wed Sept 3rd (5:30 p.m.) – How to Improve Your Basic Speed

 

Wed Sept 10th (5:30 p.m.) – Proper Nutrition for Runners

 

Wed Sept 17th (5:30 p.m.) – 5k Race Strategy & Course Tour
